Endless summer

La Dama is sit­u­at­ed on the south-west­ern coast, above the seclud­ed Playa de la Raji­ta. There is hard­ly any day with­out sun­shine in this region with the high­est tem­per­a­tures in the anu­al aver­age. The lit­tle banana work­ers’ vil­lage on the cliff is a per­fect place for watch­ing whales pass­ing by the head­land. La Dama remained a qui­et, rur­al place, there is no tourism.

Chipude

Com­ing from Valle Gran Rey, just before Chipude you will be pass­ing the vil­lage of El Cer­ca­do, famous for the pot­ters hand­craft­ing pot­tery in the man­ner of the orig­i­nal inhab­i­tants of La Gomera. Chipude itself is a typ­i­cal Gomer­an moun­tain vil­lage at an alti­tude of about 700 metres. The mys­tic table moun­tain “La For­t­aleza” hides anoth­er testominy of the ear­ly set­tle­ment of the fer­tile plateau: On top of the La For­t­aleza there is an archae­o­log­i­cal site, stone spi­rals of unknown ori­gin, but very like­ly a rit­u­al place. The vil­lage of Chipude offers a super­mar­ket and the Bar-Pen­sion Sonia accom­mo­dat­ing and cater­ing for guests with sound region­al cui­sine – a per­fect start­ing point for hik­ers. From the ham­let of Ger­ian, just a few kilo­me­tres from Chipude, a trail is lead­ing 6 kilo­me­tres through the bar­ran­co to Valle Gran Rey (Los Reyes).

GOMERA individual

Since 2004 I medi­ate hol­i­day homes, apart­ments and rental car book­ings on the small­est & west­ern Canary islands La Gomera, El Hier­ro and La Pal­ma. The first years I was liv­ing in Valle­hermoso (La Gomera) with my fam­i­ly. For some time the office is sit­u­at­ed in Ger­many, and I trav­el to the most beau­ti­ful islands in the sea sev­er­al times a year.

I know all accom­mo­da­tions, all house own­ers per­son­al­ly, take the pho­tos myself and reg­u­lar­ly check the qual­i­ty of the hous­es on site. My pro­gram is small and fine: I only offer hol­i­day homes in which I feel com­fort­able and which I can real­ly rec­om­mend.
